LOLA Real Wedding: Shreya and Phil at the Intercontinental Hotel O’Hare
As wedding planners in Chicago, we work with lots of couples that are trying to infuse their wedding ceremonies and receptions with elements of multiple cultures and religions. This is exactly what Shreya and Phil accomplished with their fresh modern wedding ceremony and reception at the Intercontinental O’Hare in July. A Hindu ceremony under a fabulously chic mundap was followed by a reception that incorporated an Indian/American dinner and dessert buffet. The escort cards were sprouting from a bed of wheat grass in front of one of the hotels modern art collection pieces, and the ballroom was decked out in mango and white centerpieces so fresh and inventive that their guests couldn’t stop commenting on the exciting décor. The bride and groom changed from their traditional South Asian attire into western fashion before their first dance.

The colors of a summer sunset over the Chicago skyline was the inspiration for this fabulous Chicago wedding at The Hotel Allegro. Emily and Peter chose the venue because of its great Chicago history and architecture, and then used their own style and color palette to infuse personality. Some nods to their Chicago wedding inspiration: A cityscape table assignment display, a skyline tier on their cake, late night deep-dish pizza and Garrett Popcorn favors.

LOLA Real Wedding: Katie & Josh at The Peninsula Hotel
The Peninsula Hotel created a backdrop for the vibrant June wedding ceremony and reception of Katie and Josh. The bride was inspired by an elaborate tree display featured at a hotel in Las Vegas, and this served as the cornerstone for the event design. Live trees reaching seventeen feet tall and accented with floral pomanders transformed the formal ballroom into a scene that seemed fit for a fantasy. Live floral pieces suspended above the dance floor created another fabulous focal point to the design as guests enjoyed a live band during their reception. Mojitos with custom drink stirrers and letter pressed coasters welcomed the guests with personal flare to the reception, and the after hours party tuned up the fun with a DJ and photo booth.
